Compromise Begins with Extension of Bush Era Tax Cuts

Recently, President Obama struck a new deal on tax cuts, but not everyone is happy.  While the extreme liberals are upset that President Obama compromised with congressional Republicans and extended the Bush tax cuts, the Cook Political Report believes this will resonate well with independents.  Independent voters played a critical role in the 2006 and 2008 elections.  They aren't considered to be driven by issues and righting wrongs, but rather are concerned with the elected officials ability to produce results.  What many are left wondering is whether this compromise signifies there are more to come in the future?
