MEETING TO MAKE AMERICA WORK! Yesterday, 1,300 citizens joined congressional problem solvers and our new honorary co-chairs, Gov. Jon Huntsman and Sen. Joe Manchin, to tell Washington that in order to get anything done, we need to work together. And the rest of the country took notice. "The gathering reflected a push from lawmakers in both parties to claim the political middle as voters increasingly view government as bitter and paralyzed," Ken Thomas wrote for The Associated Press. "Huntsman and Manchin had ridden the train up from D.C the day before—based on a photo of them posted on Facebook, sitting side by side taking iPhone pics of each other—and had come to New York with the immodest goal of getting Washington to work better," wrote David Freedlander in The Daily Beast.
