Former Senator George Voinovich to Discuss Solutions to Broken Budget Process with No Labels Community

On April 24, Former Senator to Speak on No Budget, No Pay Proposal in National Town Hall Teleconference Series

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. eastern time, former Senator George Voinovich (R-OH) will conduct a town hall teleconference with No Labels supporters to discuss solutions to the nation’s dysfunctional budget process, including No Labels’ No Budget, No Pay reform proposal. Please email press@nolabels.org or call (202) 588-1990 for dial-in information.

“The budget and appropriations process is broken today, as it was when I was in office,” said former Sen. Voinovich. “We need to force Congress to be accountable for the budget and spending deadlines it sets for itself, and that is precisely what the No Budget, No Pay bill will do. This bill already has more than 50 co-sponsors and has received a full hearing in the Senate, which means this has some real legs.”

“Senator Voinovich understands that fixing the budget process requires tough decisions and a commitment to working across the aisle,” said No Labels Co-Founder former Rep. Tom Davis (R-VA). “He offers a valuable insider perspective on how to make Congress work, and through his wealth of experience as a mayor, governor, and senator, he has exhibited the kind of leadership No Labels expects from our politicians.”

No Labels hosts a continuing series of town hall teleconferences with elected officials and private sector leaders such as Governor Mitch Daniels, Senator John Kerry, Senator Mark Warner, Senator Joe Manchin, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz and Panera Bread CEO Ron Shaich.
