Urges its 100,000 members to contact their members of Congress in support of the Gang's efforts

Washington, D.C. -- Today, No Labels urged its 100,000 members to contact their members of Congress and express their heartfelt support for the efforts of the Gang of Six.

"Every day, Americans are hearing the tick, tick, tick of the ticking time bomb of default," said No Labels Founding Leader David Walker. "Washington seemed oblivious to the sheer destruction an explosion would leave in its wake -- higher interest rates, less job security, and more economic pain for a nation already saddled with so much of it. That bomb is still ticking, but today the Gang of Six brought Americans hope that maybe, just maybe, they will be able to step in and defuse it."

“This is the moment our country has been waiting for,” said No Labels Founding Leader William Galston. “Instead of a short-term scheme that would only postpone the crucial decisions we must make, the Gang of Six has produced a comprehensive plan that would help us regain control of our destiny.  The entire country is waiting to see whether we can seize this moment—and so is the rest of the world. The time for leadership is now.”
