In politics, leaders know that the only way to make change is to be in “the room” where the decisions are being made. Sometimes that’s the Oval Office. Sometimes it’s the House or Senate cloakroom. But today in Washington there too often isn’t a “room,” where Democrats and Republicans meet, negotiate and try to forge solutions.
Since members of Congress aren’t getting in the room on their own, No Labels has created a room for them. We are sponsoring regular meetings between members of both parties (bipartisan) and from both the Senate and House (bicameral) in Washington on the first Wednesday morning of every month. These are moments where our democracy actually feels like it is working.
Tell your representative and senator that they need to GET IN THE ROOM! Tell them you won’t accept excuses and that you will only vote for leaders who are willing to get in the room, sit at the table and get to work. Getting in the room is the first and essential step for our leaders in Washington to solve the problems you care about most.
Without this step, there can be no progress!
This is the single most important thing you can do to strengthen the No Labels movement and to push America forward.
