Raise Fuel Efficiency Standards
About the Problem
Although current U.S. Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards call for vehicles to get an average of 54.5 miles per gallon by the year 2025, our target still lags behind targets set by China, Japan and the European Union.
About the Policy
The U.S. should continue to raise fuel standards for cars and trucks in order to diminish U.S. dependence on foreign oil.
Polling data derived from three national surveys conducted by Cohen Research Group in February and March 2016. Each survey had a sample size of at least 1,000 registered voters with a margin of error of +/- 3.1%
