Position: Controller

No Labels is seeking a Controller to join the No Labels operations team. This position reports directly to the CEO. The Controller is responsible for managing all of the organization’s finance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, grant administration, and reporting activities.

Daily tasks include:

  • Manage all financial operating procedures and policies including overseeing the annual audit
  • Manage employee benefits and other human resource administration needs including updating employee handbook, organizational charts, etc.
  • Oversee invoicing and time sheets from consultants and staff
  • Meet weekly with Treasurer to review accounts payable
  • Distribute weekly financial reports
  • Records and reporting management including 1099s, charitable registration filings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Recommended Skills & Experience:

  • 5-7 years in accounting and/or office management
  • Strong attention to detail is a must
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to lead amongst peers

Position: Press Secretary

No Labels is seeking a multi-talented communications professional to handle the role of press secretary.

In this position, you will have an opportunity to shape No Labels’ voice across multiple channels as the organization seeks to establish a New Center in American politics.

The press secretary must be well-versed in politics and policy, believe in the urgency of bipartisan problem solving and have a knack for creating and distributing concise, pithy communications that can win the news cycle and compel people to action.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work directly with the No Labels senior leadership team and consultants to identify daily messaging opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and coordinate opportunities for engagement around breaking news, legislative efforts and events. Pitch stories, TV/Radio bookings, op-eds, and / or press releases.
  • Lead efforts to communicate with specific audiences including: grassroots activists, donors, elected officials, candidates, and college organizations.
  • Build national and regional reporter relationships to increase visibility of the No Labels voice and message.
  • Build out a rapid response infrastructure on social media. Identify surrogates and messaging strategies to aid in quick response to breaking news.
  • Manage surrogate interactions with press and handle TV/radio booking opportunities. Write statements, talking points and briefing documents for No Labels leadership and surrogates.

Recommended Skills & Experience: · Minimum five years of experience working in a related field such as a Capitol Hill, agency or nonprofit press office; political campaign; or public affairs firm · Superior verbal and written communication skills · Ability to multi-task, work in fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines · Flexibility and willingness to collaborate with different team members · Bachelors degree is required

Position: Digital Coordinator

No Labels is seeking a hard working individual with at least two to three years of professional experience in the digital space. This person will be a key member of the team, focused on both the daily and long-term development and implementation of our email and social media advocacy campaigns.

You should have experience drafting email for a political or non-profit list, generating social media content, and be comfortable updating a website. We’re looking for a strategic thinker who enjoys a culture that constantly tests new ways of activating people across our existing and new online channels. A strong understanding of email analytics and social insights is also important.

No Labels is a fast paced environment and this person should be comfortable with working on the fly.

Required skills: Salsa Labs (or comparable CRM), social media for an organization, HTML, Google Analytics, strong writing skills, attention to detail, and a creative mind.
