Signs continue to indicate a shift toward Republicans. The New York Times says “Republicans are winning swing voters,” while Times columnist David Brooks writes, “Democrats had a golden summer, [but] the momentum didn’t survive the fall. Over the past month or so, there’s been a rumbling across the land, and the news is not good for Team Blue.”
In another warning for the party that controls the White House and both chambers of Congress, Bloomberg reports that gas prices “remain stubbornly high just three weeks away from the midterm elections, and the states where the pain is most acute include those poised to determine which party controls Congress.”
