U.S. Reps. Mick Mulvaney and Tom Rice R-S.C. are the only South Carolina congressmen participating in a bi-partisan group of lawmakers called the “No Labels Congressional Problem Solvers Coalition.”
On Thursday in Washington, the group of 79 Democrats and Republicans will announce a legislative reform package of nine bills that it says will make government “more efficient, effective and less wasteful,” according to Mulvaney’s office.
The legislative package has been dubbed “Make Government Work.”
The “problem solvers” group began earlier this year with 24 congressional members. Since then, it has more than tripled in size to include 36 Republicans, 42 Democrats and one independent senator.
The majority of the lawmakers in the group serve in the U.S. House, representing several states.
