It was reported last week that Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley had become the 10th Republican to support the Electoral Count Reform Act, which is intended to clarify the process for determining the winners of presidential elections. This could give the bill the filibuster-proof majority it needs to clear the Senate. As John Ketcham of the Manhattan Institute wrote in July, the legislation would provide “far greater clarity and predictability and all but ensur[e] that the post-election events of 2020 will not recur.
