Dr. Chavis Jr. Named No Labels National Co-Chair

Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis Jr., the iconic figure who served as youth coordinator to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and who remains one of the Civil Rights Movement’s most revered figures, has agreed to join Sen. Joe Lieberman and Gov. Larry Hogan as our national co-chair. This is just another sign of how our movement to unify the country is growing stronger.

Dr. Chavis has agreed to help lead the movement, not only because of his iconic reputation, but because his career reflects exactly what we want No Labels to become—a force for good that changes Washington for the long term.

Dr. Chavis, who currently serves as the President and CEO of the National Newspaper Publishers Association, knows what it takes to have an enduring impact—to take an idea that seems impossible at the beginning, but becomes a new ideal by the end. Too many people in Washington think that the solutions to our biggest problems will only be crafted when one party, or the other, controls all the levers of power in Washington—but we know that’s not true. The best solutions emerge only when the two parties work together, and we’re determined to make that the norm in our nation’s capital. Now, Dr. Chavis, Sen. Lieberman, and Gov. Hogan will be helping to lead us in that direction, together.

We hope you’ll join us for what is sure to be a special and memorable event online on January 22 at 5pm ET. To receive a link to the event, please click this link. Thank you for your support. And, please, spread the word!
