Friend, here’s what YOU think Trump and Biden should debate.

Friend, here’s what YOU think Trump and Biden should debate.

On Monday, we asked you to let us know which issue you’d most like to see President Biden and former President Trump debate.

With the final results tallied, a clear winner emerged: border security and immigration.

It’s no surprise that so many in the commonsense majority are concerned about the issue. Customs and Border Protection reported 2.5 million encounters of migrants occurring at the U.S.-Mexico border in fiscal year 2023 – the highest on record. Pew now estimates that there were 10.5 million undocumented migrants living in the U.S. in 2021, the last year for which data was available.

Members of Congress from both parties are urging President Biden to take action to secure the border, as roughly two-thirds of Americans disapprove of his record on the issue. Meanwhile, former President Trump has vowed to potentially deport millions of migrants.

America needs a commonsense path forward on this decades-long problem. Unchecked illegal migration into the U.S. creates real security concerns that affect us all, but we need more legal immigrants to fill the thousands of jobs going unfilled. In No Labels’ Common Sense, we outlined the broad support for a bipartisan compromise that would make needed increases to border security while fixing our broken immigration system and establishing a pathway to citizenship for the Dreamers.

Will either candidate embrace a commonsense path forward on the issue? Or will America remain trapped in our current cycle of toxic rhetoric on immigration and border security?

We will be watching to see if President Biden or former President Trump can offer a compelling vision for the future on June 27.

In the meantime, let us know: Would you support a deal to improve border security and fix our broken immigration system?
